On 14 July 2026, The HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute is pleased to raise the initiative The Hong Kong Textile and Clothing Industry's Next Growth Pathway, with guidance from the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and joint support from the Textile Council of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Textiles, and multiple industry associations. Seizing the golden opportunity presented by the national 15th Five-Year Plan, which emphasizes the optimization and upgrading of traditional competitive industries, the Hong Kong sector demonstrated its unified resolve by putting forward six key policy recommendations. The initiative aims to proactively align with the overall national development strategy in areas including supply chain management, product design, brand development, and professional services. It seeks to bolster the global competitiveness of the national textile and clothing industry, build a powerhouse in fashion and branding, and provide strategic advice for the Hong Kong SAR Government's forthcoming five-year plan.
